Recently we spent a hot July afternoon with the Wall Street Journal. They wanted to feature Mariner III in an article and we are delighted to see it was published today.

The crew had made sure everything was looking it’s best and our favourite designer, Mitchell Turnbough was on hand to add some finishing touches. The journal’s photographer Dorothy Hong joined us for a cruise up the Hudson River to catch Mariner III in the late afternoon light. Greenwich is proving to be a very popular starting point for our cruises.

As a charter yacht, Mariner III is available for any trip you choose, but we are finding that many parties choose to start their trip at Greenwich. The marina is close to the town centre, so access is easy.

We recently ran a cruise for a group of 45 friends and family members who got together to a remember a relative. The trip from Greenwich to Manhattan gave ample time for our guests to reminisce, reflect and catch up with each other. Snacks and drinks were served and the atmosphere was warm and friendly.

We arrived at the Statue of Liberty for a beautiful golden hour. The statue looked magnificent in the golden light and the towers of downtown New York shimmered. It was a magical moment.

As we turned for home, dinner was served and stories were told. Balloons and a lantern were released in memory.

It was a great trip to be involved with and our guests were full of praise for the experience. Days like this are what Mariner III is all about.

In the heat of August, the producers of the popular British reality series Made in Chelsea chartered Mariner III to film part of the season finale of Made in Chelsea New York.

We welcomed a production crew and cast of around 70 people. Filming took place on the Hudson with the Freedom Tower as backdrop during the afternoon. As dusk fell we moved south for some sequences in front of the Statue of Liberty, finally filming the night sequences near the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.

The boat had been rigged with Made in Chelsea’s trademark fairy lights. Once night had fallen, these gave the boat a beautiful glow that looks great in the finished show.

Mariner III is pictured leaving the dock for a birthday cruise. The party was already in full swing and our photographer reports that it could be heard clearly from the dock!

Our client invited a boat full of friends and family to celebrate her fiftieth birthday. Her verdict on returning much later that night? “I had such a good time” she said with a big smile.

The first event held on Mariner III’s after it was  certified as a charter vessel was a birthday party for actress Brooke Shields. Since then we have held countless parties for celebrities, families, churches, businesses and pretty much every other body you can think of.

The Boat

Mariner III has a large, open top deck which can be covered if rain (or too much sun) is likely. There is a covered rear deck with bar and an internal salon with comfy seating. Guests are welcome to roam from one area to another for a range of different moods.

Catering

Our chef prepares the party food fresh on the day. There’s no reheating, our food is fresh and wholesome. We can serve anything from buffet snacks to a multiple course, sit down dinner. The choice is yours. We will work with you (or your event planner) to deliver the finest food, suitable for your event.

Drinks are essential at a party and we can offer you a full range of drink services. From juices and sodas only, through to a full premium bar service with cocktails, liquor, wine and beer. The choice is yours.

Entertainment

We can happily accomodate a DJ or a small live band.

Setting

Most parties choose to cruise around Manhattan on the Hudson and East Rivers to enjoy the skyline and the famous sights. We can also cruise around the harbour and the Statute of Liberty or incorporate any other landmarks you want

Departure

Mariner III is based at Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River (23rd Street) and many parties depart from this point. Access to Chelsea Piers from Downtown and Midtown is easy. We can also come to you if you have the use of a pier in New Jersey, Brooklyn, Long Island and points as far north as The Hamptons.
